Course content:
The course introduces nominal and verbal analysis and generation and elucidates the treatment of semantics in the model of Pāṇini.
In this four-part course of study, students will be able to:
- Understand the nominal and verbal analysis and generation in the model of Pāṇini.
- Understand the semantic connection among words in a sentence and how sentence meaning is derived.
- Use the karaka model in computational word sense disambiguation.
- Understand the computational methods used by Pāṇini to accommodate exceptions and deviations in language while framing morphological rules.
